End of Year 10 Psychology IGCSE Assessment!
Thursday 22nd May 2025
How long will it be?
2 hours
What topics will be assessed?
This is a summative assessment of Year 10 learning, so that means you will be assessed on everything from Year 10 so far: Research Methods, Memory, Perception & Social Influence.
What kind of questions will be asked?
A variety of questions will appear on this paper including the following: Multiple-choice questions, Short-answer questions (1, 2, 3, 4 & 6 markers) and Extended-response questions (9 or 12 markers).
What will you be expected to do before and during this assessment?
PREPARE:
Before the EOY assessment on the date you can see above, you should be revising in your own time. There are 3 key steps in order for revision to be effective and they are:
1. Create revision notes - using flashcards, mind maps, class notes/materials, key term banks, the iGCSE textbook (see more on this below).
2. Practice retrieval of these notes - record voice memos, get your parents of friends to quiz you or (Mrs Pritchard's favourite) use Look, Cover, Check and do what the name suggests with your previously created revision notes so they don't sit and gather dust.
3. Exam Practice - when you are completely confident you have smashed your retrieval practice should you move on to this step, if you need to review the previous step at any point, please prioritise that first. Exam practice will only feel good and be useful if you can retrieve your notes without looking at them. You can find more information about practice questions below.
You can find revision material to help you with these steps below.
The above questions will expect you to demonstrate one or two of the following three skills:
- Knowledge and understanding
- Application to a scenario
- Evaluation
Questions on this assessment will only be worded in ways that you have already been shown in lesson time.
