Welcome to Business at BIS AD!
The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Business covers fundamental business concepts, marketing strategies, financial basics, operations and production management, human resources, business ethics, economic context, and the global dimensions of business. Additionally, it touches on entrepreneurship and small business challenges. The course is designed to equip students with a foundational understanding of the business world, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills while enabling them to apply their knowledge to real-world business scenarios.
This GCSE aims to equip students with a strong foundation in business but also underscores its connection to the broader field of social sciences. This curriculum underscores the interdisciplinarity of business studies, emphasizing its alignment with social science disciplines like economics, sociology, and psychology, allowing students to discern the intricate societal and human factors at play in the business world.
Furthermore, this program underscores the interdependence of business studies with other subjects such as mathematics and English. Proficiency in numeracy skills from mathematics is indispensable for the rigorous analysis of financial data and market trends in the business realm. Our current learning
In term 1 of Year 10 students will dive into the world of businesses and how they function. They'll explore a variety of business types, ranging from small startups run by one person to large corporations, and dissect the reasons behind the choices businesses make, such as how they price their products and manage their workforce. Additionally, students will dig into the ways that external factors like economics, society, the environment, and technology can impact a business and how they adapt to these influences. By the end of the course, students will have a solid grasp of how businesses operate in the real world.
