Welcome to Arabic as a Second Language program (Arabic B).

This curriculum overview shows the details of our approach to teaching and learning Arabic to non-native speakers. Our primary goal is to facilitate a meaningful and engaging learning experience, promoting language proficiency, cultural understanding, and effective communication in Arabic.

Program Vision:

Empowering and Inspiring learners to be risk-takers and achieve the learning goals in the daily Arabic language and real-life situations, where students with different levels can access the Arabic language and culture by using their skills and passion, through inquiry and reflective approaches.

Key Objectives:

1. Language Proficiency: Develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Arabic.
2. Cultural Understanding: Expose learners to the Arabic culture: traditions, history, food and festivals.
3. Communication: Equip students with the language skills necessary for everyday interactions, travel, and professional contexts, ensuring practical application of the language learned.
4. Interdisciplinary Learning: Integrate Arabic language learning with other subject areas.

Our current learning

A- Comprehensive Language Modules:

• Engaging resources: Ministry textbooks, Arabic magazines and newspapers, TV shows, games.
• Levelled learning (1-9) where students can access any level anytime.
• Structured language modules: Vocabulary, conversational content, sentence structure tailored for non-Arabic speakers.

B-Interactive Learning Activities:

• Engaging in activities such as role-playing, multimedia presentations, debates, and language games to enhance communication and comprehension.

C- Cultural Integration:

• Cultural lessons and experiences to familiarize learners with UAE and Arab world customs, traditions, celebrations.
• Collaborative projects and presentations that explore Arabic arts, literature, music, and cuisine, promoting cross-cultural appreciation.

D- Technology-Enabled Learning:

• Students utilize their skills on presentations and projects.
• The use of Arabic digital platforms (Languagenut for example).

E- Continuous Assessment and Feedback:

• Regular assessments and evaluations to track progress, identify strengths, and address areas for improvement.
• Online and paper-based assessments, presentations, small projects.

New Starters

We are welcoming our new starter and recommend few tips to understand more about Arabic B classes.

3. Bring your own device so you can access online resources that will be used during the lesson.
4. Make sure you have Microsoft Teams and OneNote downloaded on your laptop as both will be used in the classroom.
5. Stationary; A black or blue pen, an eraser for correcting mistakes and making neat, clean notes and colouring pencils for adding colour to the mind maps and diagrams as needed.
6. You will be provided with a notebook when you arrive in class and your teacher will add you to the class Teams page or OneNote where you will have access to all of the work done previously.
