Year 11 Psychology students are currently in the process of completing their final studies of the OxfordAQA iGCSE course. This is a two-year course, which is assessed on a linear basis, meaning that all external assessments will take place at the end of Year 11.

iGCSE Psychology exam dates are as follows:

• Paper 1: 29th May 2025 
• Paper 2: 5th June 2025

What will students be assessed on in Psychology? 

iGCSE Psychology students will complete two Psychology papers during their final examination period. You can find more specific details about each of the exam papers on the specification below:

How can student's prepare for these assessments?

Since the beginning of Year 10, Psychology student's have always been taught that there are 3 key steps to the revision process, that they should aim to follow in order to revise and prepare fully for an exam. There steps are as follows:

1. Creation of detailed revision notes - these can be in the form of flashcards, mind maps, voice recordings or drawings. Student's should be using the iGCSE approved textbook to help with these, you will find a link for this below and student's also have access to copies in the school library.

2. Retrieval practice - once they have completed the step above for a given topic or sub-topic, it's time the practice recalling the notes from memory. Student's can do this using techniques like look, cover, check; voice memos; or by quizzing each other/getting family members involved.

3. Exam practice - Student's should use the resources below or on teams to put their learning into practice in an exam context. They can also access the mark schemes for additional support on what an examiner is looking for!
