There will be a summative assessment covering all Topics 1-8 as below on Tuesday 4 February 2025. Please see the Scheme of Work shared as a PDF (below right) for more detail on these topics.

Term 1 assessments

There will be a summative assessment covering topics 1, 2 & 3 on Thursday 3 October 2024
There will be a total of six assessments across the academic year. The exact dates will be communicated three weeks prior to each assessment. In addition to class materials provided by teachers, students are advised to use the following resources to prepare for this test.
Revision and practice resources;
- Mathswatch Pre-Exam Question Bank – a question bank of exam style questions will be released on the Mathswatch platform two weeks before any assessment.
- SPARX maths weekly home learning tasks – weekly home learning is released every Wednesday and is due back the following Wednesday on Sparx Maths.
- SPARX maths “XP-Boost” and “Target” questions – these are AI based questions as the SPARX platform will learn what areas of maths is your child’s strong and weak areas (based on completed home learning tasks). The “XP-Boost” section helps students practice their strong topics. The “Target” sections encourages them to re-practice their weaker topics.
- SPARX maths “Independent Learning” – this area of SPARX Maths allows students to self-select a topic they want to work on. You will find the codes for each topic in the scheme of work provided. Please ensure that your curriculum on the independent learning section is set to "Key stage 3".
- Retention worksheets – BISAD-made retention worksheets which match the curriculum order we teach in is available under the Home Learning section. It is encouraged that students complete a page once a fortnight as repeated practice for retention.
Year 7 Topic Workbooks
The students will be given physical copies of the Topic Workbooks shared below, in which they will find lots of extra questions for consolidation and extension. (Booklets containing the answers will be shared with the students separately)
