Term 1 Test
Your Term 1 test will take place during the week beginning November 11th in your regular Design & Technology classes. Please ensure you bring a charged device with you, as this will be essential for the test.
The assessment will consist of two sections and will be a multiple-choice exam.
1. Health & Safety
2. Forces & Stresses
Use the revision document below to help you prepare.
Term 2
In Term 2, your assessment will be based on a Product Disassembly Project. You will select a product of your choice, carefully disassemble it, and analyse how it has been made. This analysis will focus on:
-
Materials used in its construction
-
Manufacturing techniques applied in production
-
Design decisions made by the manufacturer
You will then communicate your findings through notes, sketches, and diagrams. Assessment will be based on how well you explore, record, and explain the design and engineering choices within your chosen product.
Term 3
In Term 3, your assessment will center around an Aeroplane Project. This will involve developing your design ideas and building practical skills to manufacture a model aeroplane.
You will be assessed on:
-
The quality of your design work, including creativity and clarity of communication
-
The quality of manufacture, with attention to accuracy, finish, and craftsmanship
This project will give you the opportunity to combine both your design thinking and practical making skills, building confidence and preparing you for more advanced projects in later years.
