Term 1 Test

Your Term 1 test will take place in your regular Design & Technology classes. Please ensure you bring a charged device with you, as this will be essential for the test.

The assessment will consist of two sections:

1. Health & Safety

2. Mechanical Systems & Movement.

Term 2 Test 

In Term 2, your assessment will be based on your Mini NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) project. This task is designed to give you a smaller scale experience of the project work you will complete in Year 11 for your GCSE.

You will produce:

• A physical project – where you will apply your design and practical skills to create a product.

• A design portfolio – where you will document your research, design ideas, development process, and evaluation.

Assessment will be ongoing throughout the term, meaning your effort, progress, and organisation will contribute to your final grade as much as your finished product and portfolio. This approach will help you practice the skills needed for your future GCSE NEA, including creativity, problem-solving, and presenting your work clearly.

Term 3 Test

Your Term 3 test will take place in your regular Design & Technology classes. Please ensure you bring a charged device with you, as this will be essential for the test.

The assessment will be based on the Unit - Industry & Enterprise

1. New and Emerging Technologies

2. Sustainability

3. People and Society

4. Production Techniques and Systems
