History Curriculum: Term 3
Welcome to the History Department at BIS Abu Dhabi! It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to all parents and students as we embark on an exciting voyage through the annals of time. Our current learning
In the third term we will complete our Superpower Relations topic and begin our paper 2 investigation of the Vietnam War.In our Superpower Relations topic, we will conclude our examination of the key crises of the 1960s, namely the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Invasion of Czechoslovakia. We will then consider the thaw and the beginnings of detente between East and West. This will prepare students for their Year 10 exam, which will cover both the Superpowers and Germany topics.
Before the end of the year, we will begin studying the Vietnam War. We begin by examining the origins of the conflict in the aftermath of the Second World War and look at the fight against the French. Then, we will continue by examining the Second Indochina War and look at the events that led to the USA's escalating involvement.

- Bring your own device so you can access online resources that will be used during the lesson.
- Make sure you have Microsoft Teams and OneNote downloaded on your laptop as one or both will be used in the classroom.
- Stationary; A black or blue pen, a pencil, a ruler, an eraser.
- You will be provided with an exercise book when you arrive in class.
